A workable Yunnan itinerary starts with total days, not every town on the map. Eight days fits Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang if you run one heavy outdoor day at a time—not if you also want Tiger Leaping Gorge, Meili sunrise, and two shopping nights.
Quick read:
Below: day-count bands we run as private routes—product day blocks as editable skeletons, not brochure paste. Seasons: best time to visit Yunnan. Highlands: Shangri-La Yunnan travel. Execution: private Yunnan tour.
No multi-day Kunming arc—repeat visitors or tight calendars.
Hard rule: do not stack Yulong and a long Erhai ride the same morning.
Choose this when Shangri-La is the point—not a Lijiang evening add-on.
Yunnan 10D9N merges lowland arc with highland days without 14-day Meili / Lugu depth. Pick Yunnan 14D13N when Meili sunrise and Lugu are non-negotiable.
8-day and 10-day products keep at least one Kunming block—for gulls, ethnic village museum, or flight alignment.
Fly Kunming–Dali same morning and out of Lijiang? You can skip overnight Kunming if tickets fit. Knee-sensitive groups often sleep one Kunming night first anyway.
Shared group buses run fixed times through Tiger Leaping Gorge and Yulong ticket windows. If one traveler needs a slower gorge walk or a lower hotel after altitude symptoms, the coach does not wait.
Private ground for your party only exists for that flexibility—we do not add strangers to your vehicle.
Texture: Dali and Lijiang. Reshaping days: tailor-made China tour.
Torn between 8D classic and 8D highland? Send who is traveling (elders, kids, altitude history), your top two must-see sights, and fixed flight dates through contact. We reply with which line is feasible—not a menu of every town in Yunnan.
