Guilin 5 Days 4 Nights Tour: Add Silver Cave and a Slow Yangshuo Day

Guilin 5 Days 4 Nights Tour: Add Silver Cave and a Slow Yangshuo Day

September 10, 2026

TravelToQin Editorial Team

Five nights in Guilin is not a faster way to see the same six places. It is the four-night line with one slow Yangshuo day added. That slow day is what makes the trip feel like a trip instead of a checklist. Helicopter tours over the Li River are a separate luxury product — they do not appear in this five-night line, and pricing details for them are not part of this page.

This page is for private ground. We do not run fixed departures. The five-night cut below assumes your party only.

Five Days in Guilin: Four-Day Spine Plus One Slow Day

The structure that works:

  • Days 1–4: Guilin city + Li River cruise + Longji + Yulong River / Xianggong Hill (same as the four-night line)
  • Day 5: Silver Cave half-day + slow Yangshuo half-day + Guilin airport transfer

Two products this page does not cover: helicopter Li River flights (luxury add-on, separate six-night or seven-night line) and the Longji repeat (revisiting Longji with both villages in the same trip — not a productive use of the day).

For the full Longji and Yulong River detail, see the Guilin four-night page. Days 1–4 below are a recap, not a replacement.

Days 1–4 — Same as the Four-Night Template

Day 1 is Guilin city (Elephant Trunk Hill or Solitary Beauty Peak) and the Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, ending with West Street in the evening. The cruise runs 4 hours; the boat lands at the Yangshuo wharf.

Day 2 is the Longji Rice Terraces full day. The drive from Yangshuo is 1.5 hours each way. Ping'an Zhuang Village is the standard visit; Jinkeng Yao Village fits for parties comfortable with longer uphill walking. Budget 8 to 9 hours door-to-door including a village lunch.

Day 3 is the Xianggong Hill sunrise (departure from Yangshuo at 5:00 a.m., return by 9:00 a.m.) and the Yulong River bamboo raft in the afternoon. The two halves cannot collapse into one.

Day 4 is the Yangshuo slow morning — Ten Mile Gallery bike ride or Xingping ancient town walk — and the transfer back to Guilin for the night. The fifth night in Guilin town sets up Day 5 without a Yangshuo morning commute.

Day 5 — Silver Cave Half-Day Plus Slow Yangshuo

Day 5 is two half-days plus an airport transfer window.

Silver Cave: the karst limestone cave system about 30 minutes south of Yangshuo. The walk inside the cave runs about 1.5 hours including the lighting effects and the named formations (the musical stone screen, the snow mountain waterfall, the jade column). The cave stays cool year-round (around 18°C); a light jacket is useful even in summer.

Slow Yangshuo morning: if Day 5 starts with Silver Cave in the morning, the afternoon is the soft Yangshuo half — the riverside walk, a coffee stop by the Li River tributary, or a return to a favorite West Street spot from earlier in the trip. If Silver Cave is in the afternoon, the morning is the soft half.

Then transfer to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (KWL), about 1.5 hours by private vehicle. For most international flights this works as a half-day morning before the airport.

Helicopter and Luxury Add-Ons (Out of Scope)

The helicopter Li River experience is a luxury product that appears in the six-night or seven-night Guilin luxury lines. It is not part of the five-night standard line. Two reasons this page does not cover it:

  • Pricing and aircraft availability: the helicopter flights run on small-operator schedules, with pricing that varies by season and aircraft. TravelToQin does not lock helicopter rates.
  • Weather and aviation rules: the routes and altitude limits are subject to civil aviation rules that change without notice. The flight that works in March may not work in July.

For travelers who specifically want the helicopter day, the Guilin luxury six-night product (separate page) covers the full pricing and availability logic.

What Five Days Will Not Hold

The following are out of scope for a five-night Guilin product:

  • Huangyao Ancient Town — full-day drive, eats Day 5's slow half
  • Li River source (Xing'an) — full-day drive, eats the Longji day
  • Second Longji visit — repeating Ping'an or switching to Jinkeng after Ping'an; not productive
  • Helicopter Li River — six-night or seven-night luxury line

Guilin Private Ground and Booking

For private trips we operate, the Li River cruise tickets, the Longji park entrance, the Yulong bamboo raft, the Silver Cave entry, and the private vehicle across Yangshuo and Guilin are coordinated by TravelToQin before the departure date. Operators enforce their own boarding rules and weather cancellations; we handle the planning around those, not the river or cave conditions.

If the shape above fits, send your arrival date, party size, and whether the helicopter day is on the wish list (which would shift to a six-night or seven-night luxury line) through contact. The first reply confirms whether five nights is the right cut.
