Guilin Private Tour: Days, Li River Segments, and Yangshuo Base

Guilin Private Tour: Days, Li River Segments, and Yangshuo Base

TravelToQin Editorial Team

On a map, Guilin and Yangshuo look like one afternoon apart. On the ground, a Guilin private tour lives or dies on three decisions: total days, how many nights you sleep in each base, and whether Li River is a full morning or a rushed checkbox before West Street. This page is for parties booking private ground—driver, guide, and MPV for your group only—not join-in coach tours. Product day blocks on Guilin 4D3N, Guilin 5D4N, and Guilin 7D6N show how we sequence river, terraces, and karst peaks without daily hotel swaps. Multi-city framing sits in private China tour; terrace module detail in Longji Rice Terraces trip planning.

What to Fix First on a Guilin Private Tour

  • Total days: 4–5 days covers Li River, Yangshuo countryside, and one cave or peak day; 6–7 days adds Longji terraces and a second Yangshuo outdoor block without nightly packing.
  • Hotel bases: at least one Yangshuo night for Ten Mile Gallery cycling and Yulong bamboo rafting—products anchor Yangshuo or Guilin nights differently; decide where you want slow evenings.
  • Li River non-negotiable? If yes, protect a morning for cruise or scenic boat segment before stacking Silver Cave or Xianggong Mountain.

We do not promise empty boats or clear-only peaks—only honest sequencing.

Li River Segment Choices

The classic cruise links Guilin pier areas to Yangshuo—roughly a half-day with boarding, sailing, and disembark logistics. Private tours can also combine shorter boat segments with road transfers when weather or pier schedules shift.

  • Morning bias: light on karst peaks is usually easier before midday haze; build breakfast near the pier, not across town.
  • Long cruise vs short scenic leg: long cruise fits 4D+ products (see Guilin 4D3N arrival day); short leg plus afternoon Yangshuo works when days are tight.
  • Helicopter or peak add-ons: Guilin 7D6N pairs Li River day with Yangshuo helicopter and Xianggong Mountain on separate calendar blocks—do not stack all three on arrival jet lag.

Yangshuo Day Structure

A usable Yangshuo day on our 5D–7D products often splits:

  • Outdoor morning: Yulong River bamboo rafting or countryside cycling (Ten Mile Gallery on 7D6N Day 4).
  • Midday reset: lunch near the river, not at West Street peak hours.
  • Evening choice: West Street stroll or early hotel if tomorrow is Longji terraces—Guilin 5D4N puts terraces on Day 2 and river/raft days after, a common private reorder.

Sample Day-Count Frames (Editable)

4–5 days — river + Yangshuo core

Guilin 4D3N: arrival Li River cruise; Yangshuo peaks and food street; farewell. Guilin 5D4N adds Longji terraces (Ping'an village) before Silver Cave and Yulong rafting—good when terraces matter.

6–7 days — terraces + river + repeat Yangshuo outdoor

Guilin 6D5N: city hills (Reed Flute, Elephant Trunk Hill), Longji day, Li River + cycling + optional helicopter, Xianggong and food street. Guilin 7D6N adds a second Yangshuo countryside / rafting day before departure—better for photographers and families who need pace breaks.

Transfers, Luggage, and Exit Days

  • Private MPV means pier pick-up, terrace road time, and hotel drop without switching to public buses with suitcases.
  • Hold luggage at hotel when doing bamboo rafting if decks are wet—driver coordinates hand-off.
  • Last day: products use morning buffer before Guilin Liangjiang Airport or high-speed rail—do not book a noon flight if you still want Xianggong sunrise.

Quote Brief for Your Party

Send: total days, must-do Li River (yes/no), terrace day (yes/no), walking limits, and whether Yangshuo nightlife is a goal or a nuisance. We reshape product bones—we do not run fixed group departures or add strangers to your vehicle.
